In animals, treatment of tumours is quite difficult and mainly involves the surgical removal. However, in this article, various approaches of therapy, prevention and control are described including surgery, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, biological response modifiers, cowpathy and use of herbs under Indian system of medicine as a holistic approach. The main theme of cancer therapy is removal/destruction of each and every cancer cell from the body; it can be achieved by a single or a combination of therapeutic procedures. It has been observed that indigenous cow urine possesses anti-cancer, immunomodulatory and bioenhancer properties, which either induces apoptosis in cancer cells and/or enhances the activity of macrophages that destroy the apoptotic cancer cell through phagocytosis. Else, indigenous cow urine also increases the activity of the other drug therapy through higher availability of the drug to the cancer cell. In vitro study on animal cell culture showed the anti-cancerous effect of Taxus baccata and CUD alone and in combination. Out of various combinations, aqueous extract of T baccata and CUD was found most promising anti-cancerous preparation in in vivo studies.
