Pododermatitis is a challenging condition in dogs. The present study was done to isolate and identify bacteria associated with pododermatitis in dogs. A total of 24 pus swabsamples were collected from dogs. The samples were processed for isolation of bacteria. Of the 24 samples, 19 were positive for Staphylococcus spp. All 19 isolates were confirmed biochemically. Two isolates of Escherichia coli and three of Pseudomonas spp. were isolated and identified. Most affected breeds were Labradors (33.33%) followed by Pugs (29.16%), Pitbulls (12.5%), German Shepherd (12.5%) and Dalmatians (8.33%) followed by other breeds. The higher incidence of bacterial pododermatitis (46%) was evidenced in dogs between 1 and 3 years of age.
