Abstract

Oral administration of uranyl nitrate @1.5mg/kg body weight for 60 days was found to suppress the humoral immunity in calves. The serum antibody titre as measured by standard tube agglutination test (SAT) and the enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) was reduced significantly suggesting depression of humoral immune responses in uranyl nitrate administered calves.
