To study the epidemiology of the stunting syndrome in chicken, a survey in the poultry farms of different areas of Udham Singh Nagar and Nainital districts was made. The serum samples were collected and processed for the presence of reovirus antibodies using enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Among these 5.25% of total collected sera were found to be positive for reovirus infection. Seroprevalence of reovirus infection was 67.8% among stunted birds. There was no effect of season as it remained prevalent throughout the year. It has been observed that grower birds of 1–2 weeks were more susceptible for reovirus infection.
