Abstract

Onychomycosis is a frequent cause of nail disease. A case of both hand-finger-nail infection by Candida albieans is described. The affected nails developed painful, reddened swelling showing subungual hyperkeratosis, onycholysis and yellowish to brownish discolouration. The presence of C. albicans was confirmed by germ tube production test and chlamydospore formation.
