Abstract

The Fab and Fc fragments were prepared from colostral IgG-1 by digestion with papain and chromatography of digest through CM-cellulose. In PAGE analysis the digested IgG-1 revealed seven protein bands at 16, 21, 50, 55, 80, 90 and 130 Kd positions. Fab fragment revealed single band at 80 Kd and Fc products revealed three protein bands of about 20, 50 and 55 Kd. The Fab and Fc fragments were found to be cathodic and anodic, respectively on IEP.
