Immunopathologic responses of silkmoth allergen were studied in albino mice. The animals were immunized intranasally and evaluated for blood eosinophils and lung histology. The pulmonary inflammation associated immunological responses in mice were compared to those detected in human allergic bronchopulmonary aspergillosis. These results indicate that lung injury in silkmoth-allergen challenged animals may be the result of the eosinophil mediators which may be significant to evaluate allergen induced inflammatory reactions in human beings.
