A study was planned to analyze antigen presenting activity in murine peritoneal macrophages and splenic mononuclear cells from mice immunized with oil adjuvant FMD vaccine or rh IL-2 along with vaccine or rb GM-CSF along with vaccine or mock antigen using MTT based Iymphoproliferation assay. The peritoneal macrophages obtained from group of mice inoculated with rb GM-CSF and rh IL-2 along with vaccine induced significantly higher proliferation of the autologous splenic lymphocytes as compared to the group receiving vaccine alone. During initial period of primary immune response i.e on 7 and 14 DPV, the group receiving rb GM CSF along with vaccine showed significantly higher proliferative responses when compared to group receiving vaccine alone or along with IL-2. But on 21 and 30 DPV the highest proliferative responses were observed in the group that received rh IL-2 along with vaccine.
