Cow therapy (Panchgavya) is an age old system of medicine under Ayurveda which is comprised of five components (Milk, Curd, Ghee, Urine and Dung) obtained from indigenous cows. Cow urine is considered one of the important components of Panchgavya and was earlier found to stimulate humoral and cell mediated immunity. In present communication the role of cow urine was assessed on interleukin-1 and 2 in mice and rats. It has been observed that the cow urine enhances the level of both interleukin-1 and 2 in mice by 30.9 and 11.0%, respectively. In rats the level of interleukin-1 and 2 were increased significantly by 14.75 and 33.6%, respectively.
