Abstract

Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) is widely distributed and endemic in India. The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) is supporting a nation-wide programme on epidemiology of FMD with one of the centers in CCS HAU Hisar for virus typing and sero monitoring studies in the state of Haryana. During the year April 2002 ‒ March 2003, a total of 46 FMD outbreaks were recorded in 11 of the 19 districts of Haryana. The sero-epidemiological studies conducted during 2002‒2003 on the organized farms are also presented.
