Abstract

CCR5 is a receptor for the C-C chemokine RANTES, Macrophage Inflammatory protein-1a (MIP-1a), Macrophage Inflammatory protein-1b (MIP-1b), and Macrophage chemoattractent protein-2 (MCP-2). The identification of CCR5 as the major co receptor for macrophage tropic HIV-1. We studied the Δ32-base pair deletion in the CCR5 gene in renal transplant patient.
