Brucellosis is a disease of major economic importance and public health significance affecting various animal species and man. In man it is an occupational disease. The present investigation was conducted to assess the prevalence of brucellosis in Gaushala cows and in contact human beings. A total of 869 serum samples collected from 607 cattle and 262 men were screened for Brucellosis using standard tube agglutination test, Rose Bengal plate agglutination test and ELISA. The overall prevalence of brucellosis in different Gaushala's of district Mathura was 15.15 per cent in cattle and 4.5 per cent in man.
