Immunoglobulin of chicken has versatile applications. In spite of abundance of this protein in chicken serum, its isolation and purification is the major limitation for its availability in pure form. In the present report we have presented three different protein purification protocols for isolation and purification of immunoglobulin from chicken serum. Sodium sulfate precipitation followed by anion exchange chromatography was found to be superior to other two methods and it was almost pure without any contaminating protein as observed in SDS PAGE. As the chicken immunoglobulin from commercial source is of high cost, this may help researchers to purify the immunoglobulin with minimum effort and less cost.
