Abstract

Effect of chlorpyriphos (0.3 ppm) and endosulfan (30 ppm) on macrophage function were investigated by their administration in the feed for 60 days in layer chicks. The functional activity of macrophages assessed by nitrobluetetrazolium reduction test (NBRT) indicated a significant reduction in number of functional macrophages in pesticide fed birds at 20 and 40 day post feeding. The reduction in active macrophages was more significant in chlorpyriphos fed birds.
