In view of their complex life cycle, many developmental stages, their capacity to evade the host immune system and sub clinical forms of disease, development of vaccine against parasite is slow. However, with rapid development of resistance in the parasite against antihelmintic and insecticides efforts for developing vaccine against parasites are more serious now a day than in past. At present some successful commercial vaccine available world wide against parasite are-Dictol against lung worms, Rakshavac-T against tropical bovine theleriosis, Toxovac against ovine toxoplasmosis, Coccivac, Immunocox, Paracox, Livacox, Cox ATM against poultry coccidiosis and Tick GuardTM against Boophilus microplus with the advancement of knowledge in the field of biotechnology and with the development of tools that enable identification of protective antigens. Progress towards development of vaccine is likely to be faster.
