Abstract

Immune responses elicited against the outer membrane proteins (OMP) of P. multocida B:2 serotype co-immunized with a plasmid DNA vector (pVAX) and the bacterial genomic DNA were assessed in mice. The CpG-DNA present in pVAX and bacterial DNA could modulate the immune responses against OMP showing better lymphoproliferative response and induction of higher percentage of CD4+ T-cells and higher IFN-production, but low IL-4 levels, thus skewing the immune responses towards Th1 type.
