This study assesses Mathematics citation analysis, depicts emerging themes, and provides critical discussions for theory development and future research. The bibliometric method was used to examine the research output of a mathematics research thesis. It provides libraries and decision-makers with extremely useful information about which sources should be obtained and which should be replaced. The current study sought to comprehend the many aspects of mathematics as a subject by examining the citations included at the end of Kumaun University’s doctoral theses in Mathematics. During the 20-year period from 2010 to 2019, a total of 7741 citations of 59 theses that were physically available in the library were analyzed. The most popular journal in the list of core journals is the Journal of Pure and Applied Mathematics, with Analysis as the focus research area.
