Exploratory study of a journal: Studies in history

Study was conducted to explore an important journal in the subject of history named “Studies in Hist ory” from different angles, in order to learn about the academic content of the journal. The study aimed to determine the number of articles and book reviews published, the gender of the authors of the articles and book reviews, the length of the papers and book reviews, the state-wise affiliation of the authors. The study also examined the length of the book reviews and the geographical distribution of the reviewers. All the individual issues under study were collected and consulted to gather the data for the study. The study indicates that a maximum of sixty book reviews were published and out of these forty-five percent had a length of four pages. The majority of authors of articles and book reviews were from New Delhi, while the remaining authors were from different states of India and a significant number were from foreign countries.
