Abstract

The current study aims to understand the features and best practices of the Agricultural Research Institute Library Websites of Karnataka. Based on the development of the library website, six agricultural research institutes were chosen for the study. The study used a content analysis approach in which the researcher created a checklist with 140 points, which was then separated into 9 tables. The researcher assessed the websites using three SEO tools, namely SEOquake, Nibbler, and GTMetrics, in addition to the library website’s content. According to the survey, the most prevalent components on all library websites are basic information about the library, its collections, and its services. Information about upcoming library programmes and resources to help researchers is not easily obtainable. The two most popular Web 2.0 platforms are Facebook and Twitter. With 83 out of a possible 140 points, the University of Agricultural Sciences Bangalore is in first place.
