Library websites serve as virtual gateways to knowledge, offering catalogues, account tools, and reference services to support learning, teaching, research, and user engagement. This study presents a comprehensive content analysis of the library websites of the top 15 National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF)-ranked medical institutes in India (2024). Data was collected in April 2025 through observational analysis of each website using a structured checklist of 55 criteria across seven categories. Findings of the study highlight significant variability in digital infrastructure, where 76% institutes use academic domains and just 53% offer homepage links directly. Digital resources like e-books and e-journals are made available worldwide via websites, and advanced features such as citation support, tools for feedback, and interlibrary loans are limited. Engagement with emerging social networking sites and national academic platforms is observed to be low. Institutions like AIIMS Delhi, AIIMS Rishikesh, NIMHANS Bangalore, and CMC Vellore demonstrated high-class content depth, digital presence, and service range. This study stresses the need for user-oriented content, standard design for websites, improved support for research, and integration of academic tools. Overall, this provides a platform for enhancing the inclusivity and usability of educational library websites in India.
