There is always two side of a coin, after every night, the dawn is next. Since the germination of life on this planet the disasters are always there. Many times these disasters are result of human intervention in the routine of nature (i.e. the act or process of making/producing/building something) and God made at other. It only shows the inexorable process of change and invites sorrow, suffering and disappointments. Gradually, one gets cocooned in the lonely ivory tower of past time. The fact was reported by various agencies that during the past few decades average 428 disasters were occurred around the world. This tragic rate index climbed up to an average of 700 sorrowful disasters events per year expressing an escalation of about 60% over the years around the world with uncountable loss to resources and life on the earth. This study investigate the disaster, its historical outline in India during the period 1984–2017, need of disaster management, national and international agencies initiatives and steps to be taken to mitigate the irretrievable damage to forthcoming generation archives.
