Information Literacy Status and Information-seeking Behaviour of Postgraduate Students of SSJ Campus, Almora of Kumaun University, Uttarakhand

Abstract

A study was conducted to know the status of information literacy and information-seeking behaviour of postgraduate students of Soban Singh Jeena Campus, Almora of Kumaun University, Uttarakhand. The data for the study were collected from 110 students (Master's and PhD) through a questionnaire. About 75% are female students in the study. In the study, most of the students are master's degree students. The collected data were analysed through MS Excel. It is found that all the students have the knowledge of computer. The study suggests that students need information literacy programme to improve their skills of using information for study and research. It is also found that the library collection at the campus needs to be strengthens in print as well as electronic from.
