Analysis and comparison of different cryptographic algorithms

Abstract

Cryptography is widely used to hide information and communications securely using mathematical calculations or mechanisms called cryptographic algorithms. For encryption and decryption of data, various cryptographic algorithms are used and implemented but still issues are faced in their usage. While some algorithms are better at network, some are better in file encryption or others are better at other factors like speed, security etc. The efficiency and performance of the algorithm differ according to various factors. This paper focuses on the comparison of various cryptographic algorithms that are mostly used. In this paper we compared and analyzed AES, RSA, DES, Ciphers etc., algorithms. Each algorithm has its own advantages-disadvantages and use cases. AES and Blowfish are better in terms of memory and entropy values. AES algorithm turns out to be best among all and is used for various applications when required.
