Abstract

As the Business is growing now-a-days competition in the market is increasing day by day, so we have to keep our customers happy so that they continue to purchase our products by giving them discounts and other offers. Along with this we need to maintain our profit levels so that we don't suffer losses. This work proposes an algorithm for market basket analysis that finds out the best product combinations by analyzing customer transactions and finding products that are most frequently bought together. For this implementation initially Apriori algorithm is used which finds product combinations and then Genetic Algorithms are implemented for finding the best out of the many available combinations. For finding the best combinations fitness function is applied to the system and the product combination with the best fitness value is selected to be the best combination to be sold.
