CASAS: Customized Automated Sentiment Analysis System

Abstract

Sentiment analysis, also called as opinion mining is the process of determining whether a given text or speech is positive, negative or neutral. More specifically it determines the emotional tone behind the text or speech. Sentiment analysis when applied to social media and reviews has a variety of applications in marketing, customer service, healthcare and politics. There are a number of tools available in market like Alchemy API and Repustate. Both tools have a number of features but a single tool cannot fulfill all the requirements. So, a system has been developed by combining the above tools that provides a vast feature set. The system provides access to 13 features. These features are sentiment analysis, emotion detection, targeted sentiment analysis, and categorized sentiment analysis, entity extraction, text extraction, author extraction, concepts identification, taxonomy classification, keywords extraction, feeds extraction, title extraction and publication date extraction.
