This paper examines and measures the quality of e-banking services provided by various banks (public sector, private sector and foreign banks) in India. Empirical survey is conducted to determine desirability and availability of ATM, credit cards and internet banking services offered by select commercial banks. The scope of the present study is limited to urban areas only. The results show that the actual delivery of e-banking services by public sector, private sector and foreign banks in India falls short of expectations of customers on a large majority of different aspects. However, foreign banks and private sector banks were found having an edge over public sector banks in terms of e- banking services being offered to customers.
