Abstract

Conflict is a process in which an effort it purposefully made by one person or unit to block another that results in frustrating the attainment of the other's goals or the furthering of his or her interests. This study has examined the relationship between the conflict management styles adopted by individuals based on their sex and the type of organisation they are working in. The comparison between the conflict management strategies adopted by individuals of tall and flat organisations (Table 2) revealed no significant difference as the t-value was 1.037. The findings thus suggest that there is no significant difference between the conflict management styles of executives pertaining to Flat and Tall structured organisations. T- test was done to compare the conflict management style of executives pertaining to Tall and Flat structured organisations. The results of the comparison between these subjects of study established that there existed no significant difference in the conflict management styles between them.
