Supplier Interface Quality Management (SIQM) with reference to TVS Sundaram Fasteners Ltd.

This research paper deals with the study on Supplier Interface Quality Management(SIQM) in TVS sundaram Fasteners Ltd. Sundaram Fasteners Ltd, a pioneer in manufacturing High Tensile Fasteners, Later in the Region of Autolec (Pumps & Assemblies). Sundaram Fasteners Ltd has got various awards from their customers mainly (OEM,S) & awards from quality council of industries (China)In Spite of receiving awards, the main obstacle hindering TVS Sundaram Fasteners is its quality level of 4ó -5ó, which is prevailing for more than six months. Adding to this, they found out that there was a dip in vendor performance over a year or so. They could not find out the actual reason regarding this problem. Immediately, TVS softwares such as application named (IPS) Inspection Planning Sheet (For monitoring Suppliers in quality), and Vendor Portal (VP) for monitoring Suppliers in Delivery. Research work was conducted in the area from the company by conducting Questionnaires & Interviews in the Suppliers premises for initial screening of problems and later Vendor rating analysis for maintaining good Supplier management Relationship. The research work in this paper is done with the following objectives: Maintain Good Vendor Management Relationship (Via Vendor Rating) Enhance Vendors to provide products as per customer specific requirements. Provides way for the suppliers to provide products in term of Quality, On-time delivery, Customer Satisfication.
