The biggest lender in the nation, State Bank of India (SBI), has been at the forefront of sustainable banking, aligning its operations with global and national climate goals. This case study explores SBI's sustainability initiatives, including the establishment of the ESG & Climate Finance Unit, green nancing mechanisms, operational sustainability measures, and community engagement programs. By examining SBI's journey towards achieving net-zero emissions and its commitment to sustainable development, this case study provides insights into how nancial institutions can drive meaningful environmental impact while ensuring business growth.
