A simple, Accurate, precise method was developed for the estimation of lymecycline drug. This method is based on the measurement of absorbance at wavelength 384nm which are the λmax values of lymecycline respectively in mixture of 0.1N sodium hydroxide. Lymecycline shows linearity at all the selected wavelengths at the range between 5.0–25μg/ml at 384 nm respectively. Recovery studies for lymecycline were performed and the percentage recovery for the drug was obtained in the range of 92–101% respectively. This method shows good reproducibility and recovery with % RSD less than 2. Statistical validation of the data shows that the proposed method can be successfully applied for the routine analysis of drugs in commercial tablets. Hence, it could be used in the analysis of laboratory samples and marketed formulations containing this drugs without the interference of common excipients.
