Abstract

Three profiles and thirty-two surface soil samples from eight districts of Vidarbha in Maharashtra state were analysed for available copper and molybdenum content. The status of available copper and molybdenum, as judged from the values obtained by other workers, is quite adequate in these soils. The results showed no correlation of available copper with pH, organic matter, calcium carbonate and clay content. Availability of molybdenum showed a similar trend with respect to pH and clay content. However, the correlation coefficient between available molybdenum and calcium carbonate was on the border of significance. A highly significant positive correlation between available molybdenum and organic matter was observed.
