Effect of Liming on Manganese Nutrition of Crops in upland Soils of Chotanagpur

A study on the effect of liming on manganese uptake by some leguminous and non-leguminous crops under different fertilizer and soil conditions in Chotanagpur (Bihar) suggested that, in general, lime addition depressed the uptake of manganese by the plants. Seed inoculation of legumes with respective Rhizobium cultures increased the manganese uptake under limed condition along with NPK fertilizers, in case of moong (Phaseolus radiatus) and soybean crops.
