Fixation of copper by soils is observed to increase in presence of EDTA. Copper fixation, in every case, is accompanied by taking up hydroxyl ions from adsorption system. EDTA appears to play its important role more in the silt loam soils than in loam soils. A mechanism of copper adsorption by soils in presence of EDTA is suggested.
