The effect of inoculation of seeds or roots with Azotobacter cultures seems to be, in general, influenced by the environmental fertility of the soil. Soils supplemented with plant nutrients artificially and sown with Azotobacter inoculated crop remarkably responded. Effects of inoculating cereals were less pronounced as compared with vegetable crops.
