Correlation Studies of Soil Tests for Available Nitrogen with Uptake by Hybrid Jowar

In a field experiment with jowar as a test crop, the amounts of nitrogen evaluated in soils by different methods were correlated with the nitrogen uptake by jowar grains grown in the field. The amount of available nitrogen estimated by alkaline permanganate method gave the highest correlated coefficient for the soils under investigation.
