Abstract

Plant growth as well as phosphorus uptake was better in alluvial and Dhankar soils. Phosphorus uptake was highly correlated with total P in Dhankhar soil. In alluvial and Dhankhar soils, available P was better correlated with phosphorus uptake. The P uptake was significantly increased with superphosphate + straw treatment in Dhankar, black, and alluvial soils while superphosphate and superphosphate + ammonium sulphate treatments were found better in black, Dhankar and red soils.
