Abstract

Studies on soils irrigated continuously by irrigation waters of various quality have shown that electrical conductivity and contents of calcium, magnesium, sodium and potassium in the irrigation waters are significantly correlated with those of the saturation extract of soils. Significant correlation of sodium adsorption ratio and soluble sodium percentage both of irrigation waters and saturation extracts exists with the exchangeable sodium percentage of soil. However, no such relation was found between SAR and ESR of soils.
