Surface soil samples from different parts of Indore district were found to have total zinc content as 40 to 131 ppm, but its availability ranged from 0.90 to 3.25 ppm. Significant correlations were found for calcium carbonate and pH versus available zinc. Positive correlations existed for total zinc and clay content versus available zinc and total zinc respectively.
