Abstract

Four phosphatic fertilizers-superphosphate, diammonium phosphate, ammonium phosphate and dicalcium phosphate were applied at three levels, viz., 40, 80 and 120 kg P2O5/ha and availability of phosphorus was studied on four typical soils of Chambal commanded area of Rajasthan. The available phosphorus increased with increasing doses of fertilizers and with time. The availability of phosphorus from superphosphate was highest at 60 days in class I soil (Borekhera) followed by class II soil (Sultanpur), class III soil (Digod) and class IV soil (Sholi). In these areas, superphosphate was the best fertilizer followed by diammonium phosphate, ammonium phosphate and dicalcium phosphate.
