Abstract

Hybrid bajra (Pennisetum typhodeum Pers) (H. B. 1) and local bajra (Pusa Moti crops tested under field conditions, responded well to the application of nitrogen in different forms. The contents of seven nutrients in the crops studied were found to increase significantly over the control. Urea and sulphate of ammonia were the most effective sources of nitrogen in increasing the nutrient contents. Hybrid bajra contained significantly higher amounts of N, P, K, Ca, Mg, Fe and Mn than the local variety.
