Abstract

Urea adsorption in Bundelkhand soils (Mar, Kaber, Parwa and Raker) was studied. Adsorbing capacity of Mar was greater than that of the remaining three soils due to its high organic matter and clay contents. Differences among soil types with respect to urea aasorption were primarily related to organic matter and clay contents. Physically adsorbed urea might be easily desorbed by the addition of water. Chemi-sorbed urea occurring mainly in the form of urea-organic matter complexes might be gradually dissociated upon dilution
