Abstract

Under low rainfall conditions these soils commonly known as laterite soils come under Alfisols while those under high and excessive rainfall condition with a continuous dry period of five months are found to be Inceptisols. Only those soils under prolonged high rains and continuous dry period of three months come under the order Ultisols. No Oxisols are encountered under any of the rainfall conditions. The soils have been classified upto family level.
