Abstract

Different forms of sulphur occuring in the tarai, alluvial, Bundelkhand and Vindhyan soils of U. P. were studied and their relationships with soil physical and chemical properties were worked out. Both the total and the organic sulphur were found to have positive and highly significant correlations with organic C, total N and sulphate sulphur. Sulphate sulphur was found to be negatively correlated with pH. No relationship was established between total sulphur and total phosphorus and that between sulphate sulphur and CaCO3 and silt plus clay.
