Inorganic transformation of added water-soluble P was studied at two moisture levels i.e., 50% of field capacity and waterlogging in laterite, alkali, recent alluvial, mar and alluvial soils of U. P. In all the soils most of the added P was recorded as inorganic fractions of P within 5 days of incubation. Transformation was appreciably higher at waterlogging than at 50% field capacity except for Al-P in mar, alkali and alluvial soils, where it was higher at 50% of field capacity. Al-P decreased and Fe-P increased with time of incubation. The transformation of added P into Ca-P at both moisture regimes remained constant in laterite soil, decreased in mar and alluvial soils and increased in recent alluvial soil with the progress of incubation period.
