Abstract

Twenty surface and subsurface soils representing broad soil groups of Rajasthan were studied for reserve K, K fixing capacity and K resistance to depletion. The study reveals that reserve K correlated significantly with sand, silt, exch. K, total fixed K, interlayer K, K resistance to depletion and total K content of the soils. K fixing capacity ranged from 0.15–1.41 m.e./100g and correlated significantly with org. C and clay content. K resistance to depletion is closely correlated with silt and clay content.
