The viscous property and the infrared spectra of the hydrolysed and unhydrolysed humic acids have been studied. The infrared spectra show that the carboxyl groups are associated not only with the protein part but also with the nonprotein part of the humic acid molecule.
Humic acid, hydrolysed product
