Abstract

Analysis of two hundred soil samples for hot water soluble B, and wheat plant samples for B contents, collected simultaneously, from notrh-eastern part of Bihar indicated that water soluble B in these soils ranged from traces to 1.05 ppm. About 50% of soils tested were found to be deficient in B. The content of B increased with the heaviness of texture but was not found to be related with soil pH and org. matter content of the soils. Boron content of plants was significantly correlated with hot water soluble B of soil.
