Erosion Index—A New Index of Soil Erodibility

A new index of erodibility of soil has been suggested and found to be relatively simpler and requires ordinary equipments for its determination as compared to the conventional erosion ratio. But these two indices of erodibility showed a significant positive correlation. Hence, the suggested erosion index may be regarded as a good substitute for erosion ratio, specially for the soil laboratories not equipped with Briggs McLane centrifuge or similar device for the determination of moisture equivalent.
