Abstract

An experiment was conducted to find out the best source of P for ragi (Eleusine coracana Gaegtn.) in an acid soil of Bangalore. Rock phosphate, basic slag, dicalcium phosphate and superphosphate did not differ significantly in their effect on grain yield. Of the different extractants tried for available P, 0.3N NH4F+0.0125N HCl (pH 4.8) gave the best correlation with P uptake by ragi.
