Abstract

Some maize germplasms were evaluated with different doses of zinc in calcareous soil of North Bihar. The results indicated that in general the response was clear in long duration germplasms like Ganga 4, Vijay and Ganga 5, whereas response was poor in case of M1, Popcorn and M2 which are short duration germplasms. Zinc content of the responsive germplasms was also higher in grains. N content of grain also increased progressively with increase in Zn content. Application of 25 kg ZnSO4/ha leaves enough of Zn in the soil.
